Associate Properties to Regions
The Associate Properties to Region page allows you to associate a property with an existing region. You can only associate properties with a region that is at the bottom level of a region hierarchy. You cannot associate a property with a region that has child regions.
Since regions are used to group properties in whatever manner facilitates their management, you are allowed to add a property to more than one region.
To open the Associate Properties to Region page:
-
Open the Administration Menu page.
-
Under the COMPANY ADMIN heading, click Associate Properties to Regions.
Adding a property to a region associates that property as a child of that region. You can only associate properties with the lowest level region in an established hierarchy. You can associate a property with more than one region, if needed.
To associate a property with a region:
-
Click the Region link to select the region you want to associate a property with.
All of the properties associated with this region or children of this region are displayed. If more than 100 properties are associated with the selected region, the total number of properties is displayed along with Prev and Next links which allow you to scroll through several pages of results.
If the region you selected is the parent region of another region, you cannot associate properties with it directly; you must associate the properties with one of its children.
-
Click the SELECT PROPERTY button.
The Find Property dialog box appears.
-
Enter a value in the search field and/or select a region from the Region field to filter search results.
-
Click FIND.
A list of properties appears.
-
Select the check box beside each property you want to associate to the region or click Select All Properties at the top left of the dialog box to associate all properties listed.
-
Click SELECT.
The dialog box close and the selected properties appear in the Current Properties list on the Associate Properties to Region page.
The property name appears as a link. Clicking this link opens the Edit Property page. The address and the property type are also displayed.
Deleting a property from a region disassociates that property as a child of that region. Deleting the property removes the parent/child association between this region and the selected property. It does not delete the property from the system.
To delete a property from a region:
-
Click the Region Select link to select the region you want to remove the property from.
All of the properties associated with this region or children of this region appear. If more than 100 properties are associated with the selected region, the total number of properties is displayed along with Prev and Next links which allow you to scroll through several pages of results.
If the region you selected is the parent region of another region, you cannot delete any of the properties listed. You must delete the property from the child region the property is directly associated with.
-
Click the DELETE button to select the property you want to remove.
A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.
-
Click OK.
The Other Options pane contains options that allow you to disassociate all properties from a region and to assign SLA service hours to a region.
Remove all associated properties?
Clicking the REMOVE button provides a shortcut, allowing you to remove all properties from a region at once, instead of deleting each property one-by-one.
Important!
Be careful! Clicking REMOVE disassociates all of the properties from the region. When you click REMOVE, a confirmation dialog box opens, allowing you to confirm or cancel the operation.
Assign SLA Hours
Assigning SLA service hours allows you to define the hours of operation (as defined for calculating SLA compliance) for all properties in an entire region. Using this feature will override an SLA service hours previously defined for all properties in the region. You can define the following values:
-
SLA Service Hours – Specify two time values to define the time range used for SLA calculations on this property. For more information, see SLA Response and Completion.
-
SLA Excludes Weekends? – Select Yes to indicate that Saturday and Sunday should be excluded when calculating the SLA Estimated Response and Estimated Completion times at this property.
